Melissa Harrell, B.Comm, CFP®, CLU®, CHS®

Melissa Harrell is an award-winning Financial Planner based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. An advocate for financial literacy, Melissa has been a trusted professional in the industry since 2009.

After graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree, Melissa gained extensive industry experience through her employment at the top insurance manufacturer in Canada, then the country’s leading wealth management bank. She is a CFP® Certified Financial Planner, CLU® Chartered Life Underwriter, and CHS® Certified Health Insurance Specialist.

Melissa ran her own boutique investment firm with a partner until she started her own firm McRae Wealth Management in 2021.

Passionate about the community she grew up in and promoting financial literacy to all ages, Melissa is involved her childrens’ school, Junior Achievement where she teaches financial literacy in the classrooms of elementary schools, and the arts. Melissa has been a member of Advocis (Financial Advisors Association of Canada) and lead the Winnipeg board, the Western Manitoba board, regionally for chapters across the prairies, and national committees and boards.

She enthusiastically hosts the industry update on financial planning changes and trends to fellow advisors in Winnipeg every fall.

Melissa believes the cornerstone of any financial success starts with education. She works with her clients to confirm their confidence in budgeting, retirement goals, investments, tax and estate planning. Then works to execute on their goals through the delivery of a financial plan, investments, insurance, and tax planning.

Her blend of professionalism, inviting personality, and intelligence has built strong client relationships over the years – but she credits her success to one attribute, putting the clients needs and comforts first.
